From actors to international business and more, this year’s Kumbh Mela has been a healing journey for most. One such celebrity was Remo D’Souza and his wife Lizelle. Despite the heavy crowds and the high chances of getting recognised, Remo managed to have a spiritual retreat in an ‘incognito’ outfit.

Remo D’Souza visits Maha Kumbh Mela

Taking to Instagram, Remo D’Souza shared his experience at the Kumbh Mela and taking a dip in the holy waters of Prayagraj. Remo kept his visit discreet as he was seen clad in an all-black traditional attire that partially concealed his face. This allowed the choreographer to blend in with the large crowds, maintain a sense of peace and remain unidentified.

Further, Remo shared another post that showed him and Lizelle taking blessings from the revered Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj. For those unversed, Kailashanand is a spiritual guru, a yoga guru, a scholar and a saint. This interaction showed the couple’s spiritual journey and the significance of their visit.

Is Remo D’Souza Hindu?

Many fans immediately began digging into Remo’s real name and religion. Not many know this, but Remo D’Souza’s real name is Ramesh Gopi Nair. The choreographer converted to Christianity and changed his name. Some netizens took this opportunity to troll the choreographer on his real name and passed comments regarding his religious conversion.

Death threats against Remo D’Souza

For those unaware, Remo D’Souza was one of the celebrities who received alleged death threats from Pakistan. While Lizzelle waved off these threats as spam, she also assured the fans that the Mumbai Police’s cyber security department has been looking into the matter. Apart from Remo D’Souza, comedian Rajpal Yadav, Kapil Sharma and team, and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra also received a detailed email that was sent by an unidentified individual named ‘BISHNU’.

Despite such threats, Remo made a much-needed visit to the holy festival and took a plunge to atone for sins in exchange for ‘moksha’.
