New Delhi: As the release date of Chhaava draws near, promotions are in full swing by the team of the highly anticipated historical action film. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb. Interestingly, the two reportedly did not interact much on set. Wondering why? Let us enlighten you!

According to an NDTV report, Laxman revealed in an interview that the renowned actors met each other for the first time, on the day their scene together was filmed and, only as their characters. Vicky added that during the shoot, there were no greetings exchanged – no good mornings, goodbyes or hellos. There was absolutely no communication as Vicky Kaushal to Akshaye Khanna.

But what was the reason behind this unusual behaviour? The filmmaker explained that both actors intentionally avoided each other to stay immersed in their roles. Laxman explained that Akshaye and Vicky were so deeply connected to their characters that they did not even want to see each other’s faces off-camera.

Chhaava release date

Chhaava is set to take the silver screen by storm on February 14, 2024, coinciding with Valentine’s Day. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Academy Award-winning musician AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.

Chhaava star cast

For the unversed, Chhaava also features Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Neil Bhoopalam, Pradeep Rawat and Diana Penty in pivotal roles. The film will bring to life the legendary reign of the courageous Maratha ruler, starting with his coronation in 1681.

As per ANI, Vicky told the media that working on a biopic requires immense preparation, not just for the actor but for the entire team.
