Saif Ali Khan attack: Picture of knife fragment removed from actor’s spine released

New Delhi: As fans and admirers wish Saif Ali Khan a speedy recovery, an image of the 2.5-inch fragment that broke off from the knife and reportedly stuck in the actor’s spine has surfaced online. It is believed that the impact of the attack was so severe that a part of the weapon remained inside the 54-year-old star’s body.

It is to be noted that Saif is currently receiving treatment at a Mumbai hospital after suffering six stab wounds, including one to his neck, following a brutal attack by an intruder in his Bandra apartment early Thursday (January 16, 2025). The actor also underwent surgery at the medical facility.

According to the latest updates, Saif is being moved from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a special room. Doctors were quoted as saying on Friday (January 17, 2025) that they will be restricting visitors for the day to make sure he rests adequately, as knife-inflicted wounds – especially those in the back – carry a risk of infection.

Suspect detained by police

In a significant breakthrough in the high-profile investigation, Mumbai police has detained a suspect in connection with the attack on Saif. However, the identity of the individual is yet to be established. The man has been taken to the Bandra police station for further questioning.

The individual was taken into custody after police questioned several people resembling the attacker. According to PTI, an official said that the person detained was carrying a backpack similar to the one seen in the CCTV footage from the actor’s building.
