Mamta Kulkarni takes sanyas: Former actress to ascend as Mahamandaleshwar In Kinnar Akhara

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, who is known for her dance numbers and several hit films in Bollywood, has taken a sanyas now. Yes, you read it right! The former actress will also be ordained as a ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ in the Kinnar Akhara on January 24. The former actress has also changed her name and is now called ‘Shru Yamai Manta Nand Giri’.

Mamta Kulkarni is a prominent 1990s actress, known for her roles in films including Aashiq Awara, Baazi, and Karan Arjun. Over time, her career took a backseat as controversies surrounded her, including alleged involvement in a drug trafficking case.

Former actress Mamta Kulkarni has taken a sanyas at the Maha Kumbh. She will first perform the Pind Daan ceremony at the sacred Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. As per Aaj Tak’s report, the ritual will culminate with her formal coronation in the Kinnar Akara, scheduled to take place on Friday (January 24) evening.

The former actress reached Kinnar Akara in Maha Kumbh on Friday morning, where she met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Dr Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi and his blessings. She was seen wearing a plain orange outfit with a Rudraksha garland around her neck and a saffron bag hanging on her shoulder. She has also changed her name to Mai Mamta Anand Giri. Several videos and photos of Mamta Kulkarni have surfaced on the internet, which went viral.
