New Delhi: Dhirendra Shastri of the Bageshwar Dham recently spoke to the media about the ongoing controversy surrounding YouTuber Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent. Although the show has been around for a while, it recently garnered a massive hate wave after Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, made an inappropriate comment during filming.

Amid the wave of legal cases and police investigation on the involved YouTubers, spiritual leader Dhirendra Shastri spoke to the media condemning the ‘objectionable’ comments and teaching them a lesson. Here is what happened.

While speaking with the press, Dhirendra Shastri said that those mocking the Sanataniculture are “traitors to our nation” and urged the government to take strict action against them. “The remarks made by Allahbadia, Rania and others were extremely condemnable. It is very difficult to even mention the objectionable comments. Such people should be taught a lesson, they should not be forgiven but cleared from the heart and mind,” said Dhirendra Shastri.

Two days after the controversy, on Wednesday (February 12), Samay Raina finally responded and announced that he would be deleting all the India’s Got Latent videos from his YouTube channel. The YouTuber did not drop an apology video or statement similar to Ranveer Allahbadia, he simply addressed the situation and gave the raging audience a realistic plan of action.

Following this, the controversy only escalated as the Mumbai Police summoned Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina. For context, Samay Raina is currently on his Unfiltered: US Tour and was set to perform in Canada on February 23, 2025. But, this summon could lead to possible show cancellations. However, the makers are yet to announce any change in tour dates.

Further, Mumbai Police has called upon celebrities such as Tanmay Bhat, Rakhi Sawant, Uorfi Javed, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Deepak Kalak for their participation in previous episodes of the show.
