Sheeba Akashdeep FINALLY breaks silence on why she severed ties with Saif & Amrita

Off-screen, she shared a close friendship with Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh—until one tragic event ended it all.

For those who do not know, Sheeba and Amrita were more than just industry friends; they were neighbours in the same bungalow complex. With their homes right across from each other, Saif, Amrita, and Sheeba spent a lot of time together. Their bond was unbreakable—until one heartbreaking incident changed everything.

Why did Sheeba call off her friendship with Amrita and Saif?

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Sheeba finally opened up about why she cut all ties with the couple. It wasn’t a career rivalry, a personal dispute, or an ego clash. It was something far more devastating—her beloved pet.

The actress revealed that Amrita’s dog fatally attacked her own pet, leading to its untimely death. This loss shattered her. Unable to bear the pain, she not only distanced herself from Amrita and Saif but also left the neighbourhood for good.

“Toh hua yeh ki hum dost the, hum neighbours bhi the, same bungalow complex mein rehte the and issi dauraan hua yeh ki unke dog ne mere dog ko maar diya galti se.” (We were friends and neighbours, living in the same bungalow complex. During this time, their dog accidentally killed my dog), she shared in the interview.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member. For Sheeba, the grief was unbearable. The memories tied to her home only deepened her pain, so she made the tough call to move out overnight.

Saif and Amrita asked for forgiveness

After Sheeba’s exit, Saif and Amrita repeatedly asked her husband if she would ever forgive them. But for Sheeba, there was no going back. The damage was irreversible and the friendship was lost forever.

Although her acting career never reached the heights many expected, Sheeba has recently made a quiet return to the silver screen. She had a role in Karan Johar’s directorial comeback Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and was also seen in Alia Bhatt’s 2024 release Jigra.
