Rumour busted! Anurag Basu denies Triptii Dimri’s Aashiqui 3 exit over ‘bold scenes’

New Delhi: When the rumours about the possibility of Triptii Dimir and Kartik Aaryan being cast for Aashiqui 3 surfaced on social media, fans were ecstatic. However, soon after the speculation, director Anurag Basu denied Triptii’s involvement in the film. But, he failed to explain why the decision was taken. This further fueled a different rumour that claimed Triptii Dimri was dropped from the movie because of her sexually explicit scenes in the 2023 film Animal.

Soon these rumours began making headlines as Triptii Dimri faced unwanted backlash for her ‘exposed’ films. However, the director decided to shut down such rumours once and for all.

Anurag Basu denies replacing Triptii Dimri over controversial scenes

In a short conversation with Mid-day, Anurag Basu was questioned about the rumours of Triptii being dropped from Aashiqui 3 for being ‘too exposed’. Anurag Basu flatly replied, “That is not true. Triptii knows it too.” Since Triptii’s exit, the makers have been actively searching for a replacement. As per media reports, the film is expected to begin shooting in January or early February 2025.

Triptii Dimri faced backlash for intimate scenes in Animal

For those unversed in the full story, Triptii Dimri gained widespread recognition after her role in Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal in 2023. While this was supposed to be a huge opportunity for the actress, she faced immense backlash for her intimate scenes with Ranbir.
