New Delhi: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Pongal, megastar Chiranjeevi celebrated the auspicious festival with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. The celebrations took place at Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s house in Delhi and Badminton player PV Sindhu also joined the celebrations.

PM Narendra Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a slew of photos from the celebrations. He also shared a video where he is seen conducting the pooja of Makar Sankranti with Chiranjeevi by his side. Let’s explore more details!

Chiranjeevi celebrates Pongal with PM Modi

The Pongal and Makar Sankranti celebrations took place on January 13, Monday at the Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy’s residence. As per ANI, Chiranjeevi and PV Sindhu were joined by several Union ministers and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In a video, Chiranjeevi is seen walking with PM Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister lit diyas for the programme to begin.

After the ceremony began, PM Narendra Modi performed pooja, followed by a soulful performance by singer Sunitha and several classical dance performances. The event was held to celebrate the spirit of the harvest festival across different regions in India.

Sharing the pictures, Narendra Modi extended his wishes of Makar Sankranti and Pongal to everyone and noted that Makar Sankranti and Pongal is a celebration of “gratitude, abundance and renewal, deeply rooted in the agricultural traditions of our culture. ”

PM Modi also shared a video and wrote, “Yesterday, I took part in a very memorable Sankranti and Pongal programme. May this festival strengthen the bonds of togetherness, bring prosperity and inspire us to celebrate our cultural traditions with joy and gratitude.”
