Oscars 2025: Date and time of 97th Academy Awards nomination announcement revealed

New Delhi: The wait is finally over! Nominations for Oscars 2025 are all set to be revealed. The fate of some of the best pieces of cinema is on the line and, soon, we will get to know which films will be competing in the 97th Academy Awards.

This time, the nominations will be disclosed by Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott. Reportedly, the announcement will take place during a live presentation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Date and time of Oscars 2025 nominations

Nominations for the 97th Academy Awards will be declared on Thursday (January 23, 2025) at 8:30 am ET/5:30 am PT in all 24 categories. Are you curious to know what time it will be in India? Well, worry no more, we are here to your rescue. If we talk about Indian Standard Time (IST), it will be at 7 PM.

The nomination announcement can be streamed live on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, ABC, Hulu and Disney. Also, it will be available on the Academy’s TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook platforms. Excited much?

For the unversed, the announcement of the 97th Oscar nominations was initially scheduled to be held on Friday (January 17, 2025). However, it was postponed due to wildfires that erupted two weeks ago, damaging countless structures in Los Angeles.

The winners of Oscars 2025 will be announced at the 97th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The much-talked-about event is scheduled to take place on March 2, 2025, in the presence of some of the biggest names in Hollywood and across the global entertainment industry. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian and podcaster Conan O’Brien.

Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, was selected as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards. But, it failed to make it to the shortlist for nominations.
