‘It’s difficult to absorb…’: Shahid Kapoor reacts to Saif Ali Khan attack

New Delhi: During the trailer launch of the highly-anticipated movie, Deva, Kareena Kapoor’s ex-boyfriend Shahid Kapoor reacted to Saif Ali Khan being stabbed in his Mumbai residence. Responding to a reporter, he shared that the whole fraternity is concerned, considering it happened in a “safe city” like Mumbai.

On January 16’s frightful night, an intruder entered the Bandra residence of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan and got into a fight with the 54-year-old actor. In the aftermath of the fight, Saif was stabbed six times by the attacker, leaving him severely injured. Taimur Ali Khan then rushed him to the Lilavati Hospital in an auto-rickshaw.

Responding to a reporter’s question, Shahid Kapoor said, “We hope Saif’s health is better and we hope, he is feeling better. Whatever happened is very shocking, especially in your own personal space. It is difficult to absorb in a city like Mumbai. I am sure, the police are trying their best. These things don’t happen in Mumbai. It is a safe city. We say that even at 2 am, a woman is safe on the streets of the city so it’s very shocking. We are hoping and praying for him all the time.”

The actor also said that the incident has left everyone worried and the whole fraternity is shocked by the incident.

Saif Ali Khan health update

Saif Ali Khan is out of danger now and was shifted to a special ward from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He is able to walk normally but there will be restricted movements due to his injury close to the spine. The doctors of the Lilavati Hospital confirmed that the actor is completely stable and his recovery is satisfactory.

Saif Ali Khan attack case: No arrest so far

Meanwhile, on Friday morning, Mumbai Police detained two suspects. However, after hours of questioning, police confirmed that the two individuals were not connected to the case. The attacker was last seen near Bandra Railway station and police suspect that he might have fled towards Vasai-Virar. Currently, police have made no arrests so far.
