New Delhi: Popular comedian Bharti Singh has extended her support to Samay Raina after he came under scrutiny due to derogatory remarks on his show, India’s Got Latent. Bharti shared that Samay Raina doesn’t force anyone to say anything on the show, and it is up to the panel to decide what they want to say.
It all started when an episode of India’s Got Latent was aired featuring Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani, among others. The episode quickly sparked controversy on February 10 after several videos from the show went viral on social media. At the center of the controversy was YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, aka BeerBiceps.
What did Bharti Singh say?
Speaking with a reporter, comedian Bharti Singh said, “Woh show hi aisa hai but zaroori nahi ki show mein ja kar aap aisa hi bolo jo woh show ki requirement hai. Aapki marzi. Aap bolo ya na bolo. Samay thodi na kehta hai kholo muh aur bolo. (That’s just how the show is, but it’s not necessary that you say things just because the show demands it. It’s your choice—you can speak or stay silent. It’s not like Samay forces anyone to open their mouth and speak).”
She further praised Samay Raina and shared, “Samay bohot acha ladka hai aur bohot talented hai. Genz’s ko pasand hai. Bohot talented banda hai. Aap khud jaoge aur uske fan ho jaoge. (Samay is a very nice guy and extremely talented. Gen Z likes him a lot. He’s a highly talented person. If you meet him yourself, you’ll become his fan.”)

When she was questioned about the language he uses, Singh said, “Agar language jo woh use karta hai aur woh logo ko pasand nahi aati toh millions kyun dekhte. Woh hum hi log hai jo uska India’s Got Latent dekhte hai. (If people don’t like the language he uses, then why do millions watch him? It’s us who watch his India’s Got Latent show.”)
Ranveer Allahabadia controversy
In the latest development, the National Commission for Women has summoned YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia and others over their tasteless remarks. Additionally, Maharashtra Cyber Cell has filed a case against the YouTube show India’s Got Latent and 40 individuals involved from the first episode to the latest controversial one.
