Taking to X, comedian Samay Raina expressed that the controversy has been too much for him to handle, adding that he has removed all India’s Got Latent videos from his channel. He further added, “My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

Raina also faces summons from Maharashtra Cyber Department and two FIRs have been registered in connection with the matter in Mumbai and Assam.

Earlier, Maharashtra cyber police requested YouTube for immediate deletion of all episodes of India’s Got Latent and asked for strict action against Samay Raina’s channel. YouTube has also been instructed to review and remove all similar content.

Things escalated too much, an apology/warning would have more than enough but making it a centre point and focusing on it too much is just not a right thing.

The NCW also urged Information and Broadcasting minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take immediate regulatory measures to address the matter. Meanwhile, Samay Raina’s lawyer has informed the Cyber Cell that the comedian will return to India on March 17, 2025, and requested time to appear before the investigating officer.
