New Delhi: Arjun Kapoor’s latest offering, a loony love triangle titled Mere Husband Ki Biwi, arrived in theatres on February 21. Clashing alongside the Tamil release Dragon, this new Bollywood romance has surprisingly failed to grab the expected footfall despite its star-studded cast–Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh, and Harsh Gujral.

February 2025 is drawing to a close but not without some poor Box Office performance by Bollywood rom-coms that have opened to lukewarm responses from critics, audiences, trade analysts and every expert you can name. Scroll down to read what Trade Analyst Girish Wankhede has to say about the box-office fate of Mere Husband Ki Biwi.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi’s Box Office report

In an exclusive conversation with News9Live, Girish Wankhede spoke about the opening day collection of Arjun Kapoor’s new film and stated, “Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar alongside Rakul Preet Singh, has unfortunately fallen short of box office expectations. Despite the star power of the lead actors, the film’s opening day collection was a disappointing Rs 1.65 crore, a figure that highlights a lack of audience interest.”

Girish further noted that the low box office numbers are especially concerning considering the extensive promotional efforts behind the film. The cast embarked on multiple city tours and attended college festivals to enhance visibility and connect with audiences. Additionally, the film’s remix of Hari Hari Churiya gained some traction but failed to drive significant ticket sales.

Will Mere Husband Ki Biwi soar or tank?

Speaking about Mere Husband Ki Biwi’s Box Office prediction for the coming month, Girish revealed, “Looking ahead to the weekend, projections suggest that Saturday’s earnings will likely remain stagnant, with estimates not exceeding Rs 2 crore. By the end of the weekend, the total collection could hover around Rs 7 to Rs 8 crore, which is alarmingly low compared to the film’s production budget of approximately Rs 60 crore.”
