New Delhi: A team from Versova Police on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) reached the residence of Ranveer Allahbadia after his question in a recently released episode of Samay Raina-hosted India’s Got Latest drew massive criticism. Cops were seen arriving at the renowned YouTuber’s house to investigate the matter.
For the unversed, Allahbadia stirred controversy by asking a contestant on the YouTube-based show an inappropriate question involving intimacy between parents. Since then, social media has been flooded with posts criticising the podcaster and his behaviour.
India’s Got Latent: Latest updates
- The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemned the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. AICWA demanded that the show be terminated without delay to prevent further dissemination of its toxic ideology.
- YouTube has removed the controversial episode of India’s Got Latent, in which Allahbadia made objectionable remarks. It is being said that the video was taken down after YouTube received a notice from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- The Guwahati Police on Monday (February 10, 2025) registered a case against Allahbadia and four others. The case was also filed against stand-up comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, comedian Jaspreet Singh and social media personality Apoorva Makhija.
- In the wake of the controversy, singer B Praak announced that he has called off an appearance on Allahbadia’s podcast. The national award-winning vocalist added that Allahbadia’s words do not represent Indian culture.
- The Parliamentary Panel on Information Technology (IT) may issue a notice to Allahbadia, seeking his appearance before the committee over his controversial remarks on India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina.
Allahbadia is a well-known YouTube personality with over 600,000 followers on X, 4.5 million on Instagram and 10.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. After drawing massive backlash over his comments, he issued an apology video, saying that comedy was not his forte.
