‘Hate for no reason’: Audience member spills deets on BeerBiceps’s post-joke reaction

New Delhi: The India’s Got Latent controversy has escalated to a great extent with those involved appearing in Supreme Court. Following multiple FIRs, YouTubers such as Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchalani, and Samay Raina have faced nationwide criticism and lost future projects.

Now, a week into the controversy, an audience member who was present during the recording of the episode has come forward with surprising behind-the-scenes details. Here is what he said.

What followed Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial joke?

A Mumbai-based content creator, Mohit Khubani attended Samay Raina’s show and claimed that Ranveer was proactively checking the contestant’s comfort level after uttering the controversial joke. According to the audience member, Ranveer was heard asking, “Sorry, did it (joke) hurt you?” He also claimed that the YouTuber went on to hug the contestant after he won the show.

“I don’t want my favourite creators getting hate for no reason because half of the people don’t even know what happened in that episode,” stated Mohit. He further reiterated that all the panellists made sure that the contestant was comfortable while they made jokes. The creator added that both Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia repeatedly checked if their jokes caused any discomfort to the contestant. “He said ‘you did good’, and again apologised if the joke upset him,” recalled the audience member.

After revealing these details, the creator agreed that although an apology to the contestant would not make the joke acceptable, he opined that the hate against these YouTubers was getting out of hand.

Ranveer Allahbadia’s Supreme court hearing

In other news, Ranveer Allahbadia appeared in front of the Supreme Court with a plea to club all the FIRs and legal cases against him. The court provided the YouTuber with interim protection from arrest and ordered that there would be no additional FIRs filed against him over the same remarks.

Further, Ranveer has been ordered to submit his passport and not leave India without prior court approval. All further India’s Got Latent episodes have been put on pause until further orders. The court also stated that if Ranveer faces further death threats, he should file a complaint and the state government will be held responsible for safety.
