Ashish Chanchlani steps down as Captain America screening host – Here’s why

New Delhi: YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has stepped down as host of Valentine’s screening of Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World in Mumbai. This comes amid the ongoing controversy over Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and India’s Got Latent. Ashish, who was also part of the controversial episode of the roast show, is also facing legal troubles.

On Thursday (February 13), Guwahati Police sent a notice to Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia where they have been asked to come to Guwahati and record their statements in the case. As per the India TV report, notice will also be sent to other judges in the panel. Let’s delve into further details!

Ashish Chanchlani steps down as host

Taking to Instagram stories, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani announced that he will not be able to attend and host the screening of the film, Captain America: Brave New World, scheduled to take place on February 14 in Mumbai. He cited that he is not keeping well and hence won’t be able to host the screening of the much-anticipated Marvel movie. Earlier, reports emerged stating that Samay Raina’s shows have been cancelled in Gujarat to avoid potential protests and disruptions at the venues. The Vishva Hindu Parishad also confirmed that the tickets for Raina’s Gujarat shows are no longer available on BookMyShow.

India’s Got Latent controversy

The controversy sparked after the latest episode of India’s Got Latent featuring Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia. The row centres around Ranveer Allahbadia who asked an obscene question to a contestant. During the episode, Samay Raina and Apoorva Mukhija were seen laughing and using abusive language, which sparked further outrage.

On Wednesday (February 12), Samay Raina finally reacted to the controversy and announced that he had removed all 18 episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
