New Delhi: Ever since the controversial episode of Samay Raina’s YouTube show India’s Got Latent surfaced online, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has been receiving massive criticism from all corners for his insensitive remarks. While the duo has become the talk of the town, it seems the 31-year-old podcaster was charmed by the 27-year-old comedian way back. How do we know, you ask? Well, let us enlighten you!
An old clip of Ranveer’s podcast with blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty has now resurfaced online. In the short video, Ranveer can be seen asking the renowned director about Samay. Rohit was quoted as saying that he likes the way Samay speaks. He added that Samay has a unique style, which they call dialogue delivery, and a particular way of speaking.

Ranveer went on to ask Rohit if he would ever cast Samay in one of his films. Rohit responded that he liked that guy because he had a sense of comedy and a unique way of speaking.
NCW summons Ranveer, Samay
According to the latest updates, the National Commission for Women (NCW) on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) expressed strong concern over the derogatory comments made by Ranveer and others on India’s Got Latent. The government body has reportedly summoned them on February 17, 2025.
As per PTI, the NCW stated that a hearing has been scheduled, under the instructions of NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, to address the controversial remarks made by the content creators on India’s Got Latent. The hearing is set to take place at 12 pm at the NCW office in New Delhi.
Controversial episode blocked
In the wake of the controversy, YouTube has pulled down the episode of India’s Got Latent where inappropriate comments were made. Kanchan Gupta, senior adviser in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the episode featuring obscene and perverse comments by Ranveer has been blocked following orders from the Government of India.
