Now, Khushi is starring in her first Bollywood film, Loveyappa, alongside Junaid Khan Aamir Khan’s son. It is already known that Khushi Kapoor is Sridevi’s daughter, a woman who was considered to have irresistible beauty.

With such a legacy to live by, Khushi Kapoor has often been compared to her mother and sister regarding her looks and acting skills. While her performances can be worked on, her appearance is something that bothered her. While promoting her latest film, Khushi Kapoor spoke about her self-esteem and the need to look a certain way to be accepted. Here is what the actress had to say.

With the constant backlash, Khushi decided to alter her image and indulge in vanity from a young age. In a conversation with the Indian Express, Khushi revealed that she was made fun of for her appearance. Pointing out how she did not look like her sister or mother, she experienced low self-esteem in her younger years. “So I took a keen interest in vanity and wanting to look a certain way. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing especially because I knew that these are things people are pointing out. And I felt a certain way about it,” said Khushi Kapoor.

Khushi further explained that she is not condoning undergoing beauty procedures, but chose this path to take care of herself. She clarified that she had not done as many procedures as the public assumed. The actress then went on to condemn scrutiny over what people choose to do with their bodies. She also pointed out the public’s hypocrisy as she was bullied for her ‘bad’ looks in the past, and is also facing criticism for admitting that she has gotten work done on her face. Accepting that she cannot win, either way, she has decided to simply focus on her skills and work hard.
