Fresh FIR against Elvish Yadav, social media influencer accused of threatening a witness

New Delhi: The name of popular Indian YouTuber Elvish Yadav is apparently synonymous with controversies. The 27-year-old star recently appeared in an episode of Bigg Boss Season 18, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, where he labelled the media as ‘paid’. His remark quickly sparked backlash, leading to heavy trolling on social media. Meanwhile, an FIR has reportedly been registered against him in Ghaziabad for allegedly threatening a witness in the much-talked-about Noida rave party case.

As per PTI, the FIR was lodged following an order issued by Additional Civil Judge Pratibha on Friday (January 24, 2025). Saurabh Gupta, a functionary of People For Animals (PFA) and a key witness in the case, alleged that on May 10, 2024, Elvish, along with his supporters, arrived at his society in Raj Nagar Extension in multiple vehicles and threatened him.

According to Saurabh, despite filing a complaint with the Nandgram police, no FIR was initially registered. As a result, he approached the court, demanding legal action.

Snake venom case

For the unversed, in November 2023, Saurabh Gupta’s brother Gaurav had lodged a complaint against Elvish, accusing him of supplying snake venom at a rave party. Saurabh further alleged that since the case was registered in Noida, Elvish has developed a grudge against both brothers and their family members.

Saurabh also claimed that Elvish had been attempting to falsely implicate them in a case or cause an accident to kill them. He further stated that they were being continuously threatened through social media.

Dharmpal Singh, SHO of Nandgram police station, confirmed to the news agency on Tuesday (January 28, 2025) that an FIR was registered under Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC on Monday night. He added that an investigation is currently underway.

On the sidelines, Elvish is making waves on television by appearing as a gang leader on Roadies Double Cross. The reality show also brings together Neha Dhupia, Prince Narula, Rhea Chakraborty and Rannvijay Singh.
