New Delhi: The record for being India’s highest-grossing film is held by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan starrer Dangal. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial collected more than Rs 2,000 crore during its theatrical run across the globe. When Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 released in 2024, many believed it was on its way to shatter the biographical sports drama’s record, but that did not happen. However, you will be amazed to know that today, there is a film that has raked in over Rs 7,000 crore in just nine days! Yes, you read that right. The movie that has created a storm at the Chinese Box Office is Ne Zha 2.

Ne Zha 2, which was released in theaters on January 29, 2025, has been smashing major records, leaving cinema lovers stunned. According to a TV9Hindi report, it has already earned 580 million Chinese Yuan, which equals Rs 7,000 crore.

Ne Zha franchise Box Office success

During the Lunar New Year holiday, Ne Zha 2 shattered all Box Office records. The movie has been setting new benchmarks on a daily basis. Interestingly, the film has also become the highest-grossing film in China. It had an impressive opening, minting USD 68 million on its first day. Ne Zha 2 earned around USD 666 million during its opening week. This figure is so high that it leaves even the biggest blockbusters far behind.

The collection of Ne Zha 2 has even surpassed The Battle at Lake Changjin, which was released in 2021. The Ne Zha franchise has successfully established its dominance at the Box Office. The first part, Ne Zha, released in 2019, earned USD 722.5 million and left behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which took 18 days to reach a similar figure in the US. Also, it has only been nine days since the release of Ne Zha 2. It is likely that the film’s total collection could cross Rs 12,000 crore in the coming days.
