Yet another FIR filed against BeerBiceps – BJP Spokesperson takes action against ‘obscene’ comment

New Delhi: The controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia and India’s Got Latent has snowballed into a series of legal cases. With multiple FIRs and complaints filed against the YouTuber, yet another one has been added to the list. This time, Sadineni Yamini Sharma, a social activist and state official spokesperson for BJP has filed an FIR in Vijayawada for his ‘derogatory’ comments on parents.
The complainant filed the case on February 15, 2025, requesting necessary action against Ranveer Allahbadia. She posted a copy of the official FIR on X and shared it with her followers. Here is what the FIR entails.

Under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, the Youtuber has been booked under section 79 (action insulting a woman’s modesty), section 296 (obscene act in a public place), and section 299 (deliberate and malicious acts that insult religious beliefs or practices). Further, the FIR states that Ranveer Allahbadia made a comment on the ‘family system of marriage’.
Moreover, the individual has accused Ranveer of vulgar statements related to obscenity and public morality. “His statement affects crores of young minds. Requested to take necessary action against this individual,” stated the FIR.

Ranveer Allahbadia moves to Supreme Court to quash FIRs
With the legal cases piling up, Ranveer Allahbadia has sought the service of Abhinav Chandrachud, the son of former chief justice of India DY Chandrachud. Abhinav has been practising law at the Bombay High Court since 2014. In addition to his law career, the lawyer is also an author who has written books such as Republic of Rhetoric: Free Speech and the Constitution of India and Supreme Whispers: Conversations with Judges of the Supreme Court of India 1980-1989.
Ranveer will be appearing in front of the Supreme Court in the next two to three days with a plea to squash all the FIRs against him regarding the India’s Got Latent controversy. With cases filed in Mumbai, Guwahati, Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir and now Vijayawada, will Ranveer Allahbadia bounce back from this controversy?
