New Delhi: Singer Sonu Nigam has expressed his disappointment over the Padma Awards after the winners of this year’s Padma Awards were announced on Saturday (January 25), just a day before Republic Day. The ‘Abhi Mujh Mein Hain’ singer was upset about the fact that legendary singers such as Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Kishore Kumar have not been honoured with Padma Awards.

He pointed out that there are singers who inspired musicians across the globe and one of them was honoured with the Padma Shri – Mohammed Rafi. However, legendary singer Kishore Kumar was never honoured with a Padma award, questioning further, “Awards are being given posthumously, right?”
