‘Soaked in blood…”: Auto driver shares chilling details of helping Saif Ali Khan

New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified person in the early hours of January 16, 2025. What was possibly only an attempted burglary turned into a physical altercation after Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times by the intruder. In critical condition, Saif Ali Khan was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai by an autorickshaw around 3 AM in the night.

Now, the owner of the autorickshaw, Bhajan Lal, has come forward to share the harrowing details of the incident. Here is how Saif Ali Khan was transported to the hospital after the attack.

Auto driver who helped Saif Ali Khan reach the hospital recounts incident

While speaking to the media, Bhajan Lal revealed that he was stopped by a staff member accompanied by another person. The man was dressed in a white shirt and soaked in blood. “He calmly got into my rickshaw and asked me to take him to Lilavati Hospital. I reached the hospital within five to six minutes. At that time, I didn’t know it was Saif Ali Khan,” said the autorickshaw driver. After reaching, Saif Ali Khan called for help and revealed his name. This is when the auto driver realised that the man was in fact, Saif Ali Khan. He further added that he did not take any money for the rickshaw ride as knowing he saved a life was satisfactory enough.

How is Saif Ali Khan doing now?

After multiple surgeries, Saif Ali Khan is now out of danger. He was stabbed in his back, wrist and neck, and underwent surgical and domestic surgeries immediately. Lilavati Hospital’s Doctor Nitin Dange revealed to the media that the actor has been moved out of the ICU and is doing better. ” “Mr Saif Ali Khan is doing excellent and we made him walk, he can walk well, there’s no problem, there’s no much pain or any other symptoms, so looking at his parameters, his wounds and all the other injuries, he is safe to be shifted out of the ICU to a special room,” he stated.

Further, the actor is advised a rest for two weeks in order to recover perfectly. Adding that the wounds in his spine have a chance of infection, his movements have been restricted for at least a week for optimal repair.
