New Delhi: Bollywood has its fair share of crazy fan moments, but this one tops the charts. Back in 2018, actor Sanjay Dutt received a call that left him speechless: His diehard fan, Nisha Patil, had willed her entire Rs 72 crore property to him before her demise. Yes, you read that right.

Sanjay Dutt, 65, is known for his rugged on-screen persona and tumultuous personal journey. Despite his multiple controversies, this Bollywood star always had a devoted fanbase. But even he didn’t expect something this extraordinary. The Munna Bhai MBBS actor was reportedly informed by the police a day after Nisha Patil’s passing that she had written multiple letters to banks, requesting them to transfer her assets to his name.

While celebrities often receive love letters, gifts and even marriage proposals, this was next-level devotion. The actor’s reaction? Total disbelief.

How did Sanjay Dutt react?

Despite the unexpected windfall, Sanjay chose to step back. His legal team confirmed that he never knew Nisha personally, and he refused to claim her fortune. Overwhelmed by the situation, he stated, “I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nisha, and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.” It’s rare to see a Bollywood star turn down such a massive sum, but Sanjay’s decision came from a place of sincerity.

Sanjay Dutt’s net worth

While Rs 72 crore is a jaw-dropping amount, Sanjay Dutt is already sitting on an empire of his own. The actor has reportedly built a net worth of around Rs 295 crore and has worked in more than 135 movies.

In recent years, he has expanded beyond Bollywood. He made waves in the South Indian film industry with KGF: Chapter 2 and Leo. Off-screen, he co-owns cricket teams like Harare Hurricane in the ZimAfro T10 and B-Love Kandy in the LPL. He’s also got stakes in startups, a sneaker marketplace and even launched his own Scotch whiskey brand, The Glenwalk. His real estate portfolio is just as impressive, with a Rs 40 crore residence in Mumbai and a luxury home in Dubai. And of course, his garage boasts an enviable collection of high-end cars and bikes.
