Saif Ali Khan stabbing: Accused also recced Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s homes?

New Delhi: The accused in the high-profile stabbing case involving Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was arrested on Sunday morning (January 19, 2025) in Thane. Identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man, he has now been remanded to police custody for five days by a Mumbai court.

According to the latest inputs, Shehzad is a wrestler from Bangladesh. He developed an interest in the spot during childhood and participated in competitions in his locality.

And, this is believed to be a reason why the accused’s physique was extremely tight. When he attacked Saif’s maid Lima and the actor intervened, Shehzad used a wrestling move to push the actor away and pulled a knife from his bag to pursue the attack.

The police are now investigating whether Shehzad recced other celebrities’ houses before entering Saif’s residence. CCTV footage dated January 14, 2025, shows the accused observing superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s residence.

Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments are located not far from Shah Rukh Khan’s residence. The accused was also seen sitting on the platform in front of Salman’s home several times, reportedly observing the premises. However, after noticing a heavy police presence outside Salman’s building, he forfeited his plan out of fear of being caught.

Accused wanted to escape to Bangladesh

The attacker had demanded Rs 1 crore from Saif’s maid and planned to flee to Bangladesh permanently with the money. Sources further reveal that the accused was trying to gain access to a fake passport to ease his escape. During interrogation, several such shocking details have come to light.
