Ranveer Allahbadia untraceable? Controversial YouTuber’s statement yet to be recorded

New Delhi: Ranveer Allahabadia, who came under the police radar due to the controversial content of the show India’s Got Latent, has reportedly been untraceable to the Mumbai Police for the last two days. Cops have contacted him, his manager and his lawyers to record his statement, but till now, the renowned podcaster has neither appeared at Khar Police Station nor shared any message.

Allahabadia, who had requested a VIP privilege to record his statement at his Versova home through his manager, was not found at his sea-view house in Versova when Mumbai Police went to deliver a second summons on Friday (February 14, 2025). His house was locked and he was not answering his phone. Several times, his mobile was also found to be switched off.

Following this unexpected turn of events, speculations are rife about whether Allahabadia has left Mumbai. For the unversed, he has become the epicenter of controversy for making objectionable comments on comedian Samay Raina’s YouTube-based show. Amidst heavy protests, several FIRs have been registered against Allahabadia and Raina in different parts of the country.

• Police have registered cases against him in Assam and Mumbai. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police reached Allahabadia’s house to take his statement but found it locked.
• Police have stated that Ranveer’s mobile phone was switched off and his lawyer could not be contacted.
• Allahabadia was asked to appear at Khar Police Station on February 13, 2025, in connection with the investigation of his controversial statements.
• On February 14, 2025, Allahbadia on Friday reportedly moved the Supreme for an urgent hearing against the FIRs lodged against him over his alleged distasteful comments on India’s Got Latent. However, he did not receive any relief from the top court either.
• The Maharashtra Cyber has summoned at least 50 persons to record their statements in connection with a case registered in this connection. They include those who participated in the show.
