New Delhi: Game Changer, which marks the directorial debut of blockbuster filmmaker S Shankar in Telugu cinema, generated massive pre-release buzz on social media. However, upon its theatrical release, the response from cinema enthusiasts did not quite meet expectations.

The political action film failed to make a significant impact in cinemas on Tuesday (January 14, 2025), on the joyous occasion of Makar Sankranti.

How Much Did Game Changer Collect in India?

The numbers tell an interesting story. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Game Changer’s Day 5 collection across all languages in India was Rs 10.19 crore. This brings its total domestic collection to Rs 106.34 crore.

Breaking down the first five days:

Day India Net Collection Change (+/-)
Day 1 [1st Friday] Rs 51 Cr
Day 2 [1st Saturday] Rs 21.6 Cr -57.65%
Day 3 [1st Sunday] Rs 15.9 Cr -26.39%

Game Changer’s Worldwide Box Office Collection

On Day 1 alone, the production banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations, claimed the movie grossed over Rs 186 crore globally. However, this figure sparked scepticism among audiences online. By Day 4, the worldwide collection was pegged at Rs 140.70 crore, while the total worldwide collection for Day 5 is still awaited. (Data courtesy: Sacnilk)

Game Changer plot

For the unversed, Game Changer features Ram Charan as Ram Nandan, a former IPS officer turned district collector with anger issues. He takes on corrupt politicians, including Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Bobbili Mopidevi, to fulfil his father Appanna’s dream of a corruption-free nation.
