Oscars 2025: Second slate of presenters for 97th Academy Awards announced | See list

New Delhi: Preparations are in full swing for Oscars 2025, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The celebrated event will feature some of the biggest celebrities from the entertainment industry presenting the prestigious trophy to the winners.

The Academy recently released the second slate of presenters and some of the names on the list will leave you excited to the core about the award show. It was revealed that Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang will be doing the honours at Oscars 2025.

They will join Oscars 2024 winners Emma Stone, Cillian Murphy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Robert Downey Jr as presenters. Excited much? The grand event will celebrate films released in 2024 with awards in 23 categories.

Oscars 2025 Date

The 97th Academy Awards are scheduled to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The event will be held on March 2, 2025. Comedian and podcaster Conan O’Brien will elevate the entertainment quotient at Oscars 2025 as the host.

Reportedly, Emilia Perez received the most nominations and has become the talk of the showbiz arena. It was followed by The Brutalist and Wicked. Now, it will be interesting to see which movie bags the most number of trophies at the event.

The second edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival, expanding beyond Mumbai, will also take place in Hyderabad. The event is set to showcase globally acclaimed films, including Emilia Perez, The Girl with the Needle and Queer.

Did you know Emilia Perez has made history by receiving 13 Oscar nominations? Interestingly, it is the highest ever for a non-English-language film. The musical crime film stars Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Karla Sofia Gascon and Adriana Paz.

Gascon also made history by becoming the first transgender woman nominated for an Oscar for acting. Emilia Perez previously won the Jury Prize and a joint Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival.
