Game Changer Box Office: Ram Charan starrer witnesses dip in Day 2 collection

New Delhi: Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer hit the cinemas on January 10, 2025. After a long wait, fans could catch the RRR star back on the silver screen. While the film received overall positive reviews, it does not seem to be doing as well as anticipated. Despite the hype surrounding the film, the fans were upset when the film’s production company took to X to share Game Changer‘s Day 1 Box Office earnings. As per the post, the film earned over Rs 186 crore worldwide sales on its opening day. But, why did it upset fans?

As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, Game Changer grossed over Rs 50 crore across all languages in India and an estimated Rs 19 crore from overseas markets. Although these numbers are still impressive, they still do not match the ‘fake’ numbers posted from an official account, say netizens. According to Sacnilk, Game Changer earned Rs 51.25 crore on its opening day. On day 2, the film saw quite a decline with Rs 21.5 crore in Net India collections. As of 11 PM on January 12, 2025, the Game Changer‘s Day 2 collection reveals that the Telugu version minted Rs 12.7 crore, followed by the Hindi version earning Rs 7 crore, Rs 1.7 crore from Tamil, and around Rs 10 lakhs from the Kannada version. Game Changer‘s worldwide collection stands at Rs 80.1 crore within two days of release.

Game Changer movie – budget, cast salary

As per a report by Filmibeat, the Ram Charan starrer was made on a budget of Rs 450 crore. Due to multiple delays in release, the makers had to hike the initial budget to accommodate the changes. From the massive budget, the main leads of the film, Ram Charan and Kiara seemed to have taken home quite the salary. According to a report from English Jagran, the additional costs made Ram Charan decide to reduce his fee and take home Rs 65 crore. Meanwhile, Kiara Advani reportedly was paid around Rs 5 to 7 crore.

But, does the wait seem worth it? Game Changer currently has an IMDb rating of 6.2/10 with nearly 12,0000 reviews. One must be wondering if the film would be able to recuperate all costs and make a profit on the massive-budgeted films. Well, considering recent films, most underperforming movies seem to recover most costs with their OTT streaming deals. The OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video confirmed securing digital rights to the film. Game Changer is set to release on OTT approximately eight weeks after its theatrical debut.
