From Samay Raina to Ranveer Allahbadia: How social media personalities make money?

New Delhi: YouTube is flooded with a plethora of content, spanning a diverse range of genres. However, a recently released episode of India’s Got Latent – featuring Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani and Ranveer Allahbadia – is drawing massive criticism on social media.

The trio boasts a significant fanbase on the Internet and, apparently, they make a huge amount of money every month as social media influencers. So, if you are wondering how much they rake in, let us enlighten you with insights from a TV9 Hindi report:

Samay Raina

The host of the controversial show India’s Got Latent Samay Raina earns Rs 1.5 crore per month from his objectionable content. His earnings surpass those of his fellow YouTuber friends because many episodes of his show are only accessible to a paid audience. Currently, 5 to 6 lakh people are streaming Samay’s content by purchasing a subscription of Rs 59 per month. Apart from this, Samay also generates about Rs 50 lakhs from his performances and social media. This totals to Rs 2 crores every month.

Ranveer Allahbadia

Ranveer Allahbadia has about 7 YouTube channels and earns around Rs 35 lakh from these channels. Apart from this, Ranveer also owns several businesses. With his massive reach on social media, he earns Rs 50 lakh a month.

Ashish Chanchlani

According to the Influencer Space website, Ashish Chanchlani earns about Rs 30 lakh every month from his YouTube channel. In addition, with his acting assignments, brand collaborations and revenue from social media accounts, his monthly earnings reach Rs 70 to 80 lakhs.

A lot of people think that YouTubers mostly make money by posting videos on the streaming platform. However, that is not the case. Social media influencers leverage their reach to maximise income from other sources as well.

YouTube runs in-stream, skippable ads on the videos of its monetisation-approved users and the uploader gets money accordingly. But apart from YouTube, many streamers promote products in their videos and rake in more money through affiliate marketing.

Live Streaming

YouTubers also earn money from viewers through Super Chat and Super Stickers during live streaming. However, the money they get from using these methods depends on the people associated with live streaming and the contributions made by them.

Social Media

Along with YouTube, social media influencers are now paid lakhs of rupees to promote brands on their profiles, such as Instagram. Many times, they are paid a good amount to create collaboration videos with actors, sportspersons and celebrities for the promotion of a film or a brand.
