New Delhi: It seems like word of mouth has boosted Chhaava’s triumphant run in cinemas. You will be amazed to know that the historical film performed exceptionally well on its sixth day, which was a non-holiday, in theaters. Achieving such numbers on a weekday/working day is a dream for most movies and is considered a rare feat in the entertainment industry.

According to Sacnilk, early estimates indicate that the much-talked-about flick raked in Rs 32 crore on Wednesday (February 19, 2025) in India. If the figure turns out to be accurate, then the total collection of Chhaava now stands at Rs 197.75 crore at the domestic Box Office.

If we talk about global collections, the industry tracker further states that the Laxman Utekar directorial has so far minted Rs 228.85 crore at the worldwide Box Office. Now, it will be interesting to observe at what number it closes its opening week.

Chhaava star cast

In Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays the character of Yesubai Bhonsale. It also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Ashutosh Rana as Hambirrao Mohite, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Vineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash and Kiran Karmarkar as Annaji Datto Sachiv.

It is believed that Chhaava is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Its storyline revolves around the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, who was the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava has attained the status of the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. Its music has been composed by Academy Award-winning AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by critically acclaimed Irshad Kamil and Kshitij Patwardhan.

Chhaava was released on the silver screen on Friday (February 14, 2025), on the joyous occasion of Valentine’s Day. It opened to mostly positive reviews from viewers and critics. On IMDb (Internet Movie Database), the flick is rated 8.2 out of 10, with insights from over 10,000 users of the platform.
