Baby John OTT release updates: What we know about Varun Dhawan’s action thriller

New Delhi: Baby John, starring Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan in the lead, was one of the most anticipated films of December 2024. Sadly, the action thriller failed to draw significant footfall to theatres upon its release. It ultimately became a Box Office disaster. However, there are still many cinema lovers eagerly awaiting its OTT release. So, when and where will the Kalees directorial make its digital premiere? Well, let’s find out!

According to a timesofindia.com report, the makers have confirmed that the OTT rights of Baby John have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. The much-talked-about movie will reportedly begin streaming on the platform in either late February or early March 2025. At the same time, it is to be noted that an official confirmation about the same is still awaited. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates.

According to Sacnilk, Baby John grossed Rs 47.3 crore in India. When it comes to worldwide numbers, the film managed to earn only Rs 61 crore across the globe at the Box Office. It opened to mixed reviews from both critics and audiences on December 25, 2024, coinciding with the joyous occasion of Christmas.

For the unversed, Baby John marked the Hindi cinema debut of South star Keerthy Suresh. The film also featured Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Zara Zyanna, Sheeba Chaddha, Zakir Hussain, Prakash Belawadi, Armaan Khera and Shrikant Yadav in pivotal roles.

Baby John was an adaptation of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil film Theri. Interestingly, the Vijay starrer was a massive commercial success and won numerous accolades at award functions.
