New Delhi: Apoorva Arora has wrapped up filming for Nazariya, her upcoming film directed by Palash Munchhal. The project not only pushed her artistic boundaries but also offered a deeply immersive experience, thanks to her co-star, visually impaired stand-up comedian Bhavya Shah. The film’s unique premise and dynamic performances promise to bring something fresh to the audience.

In an exclusive interview with News9’s Vanshika Singh, Apoorva shared, “In Nazariya, my character’s name is Apoorva—just like my real name. Apoorva is a complete daddy’s girl—spoiled, rich, and carefree. As far as I remember, I’ve never played a character like this before. In real life, I don’t think I have those traits at all, so stepping into her shoes was a really fun experience. Also, she has no job—literally none! I even asked the director, ‘What does she do?’ And he just said, ‘Nothing. She just chills and spends money.’(laughs)”

What made the process even more rewarding was working alongside Bhavya, who made his acting debut with Nazariya. Apoorva reflected on their on-screen collaboration, saying, “Bhavya is incredibly cool, always joking around and keeping the mood light. He even cracks self-deprecating jokes—some that I probably can’t even repeat in public! But that’s just the kind of vibe we had on set. Watching his dedication was awe-inspiring. He’s so young, studying math at Stanford, writing and performing stand-up comedy, and now, acting! He’d shoot in the morning and then head out for his comedy gigs in the evening. Seeing his work ethic really pushed me to give my best.”

About Nazariya

Shot in Sangli, Nazariya brings forward thought-provoking themes while capturing the essence of perseverance and teamwork. The film has now entered post-production, and anticipation is already building for its release.

On the work front, Apoorva’s career continues to soar. Her short film Lipstick has been selected for the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival.
