A permanent suspension, Swara Bhasker claims her X account ‘hacked’ – What we know

New Delhi: After Swara Bhasker’s X (formerly Twitter) account was permanently suspended due to alleged copyright infringement because of her Republic Day posts, the actress claimed that her social media account had been “hacked”. She revealed that she was locked out of her X account on January 30, 2025, following a “copyright violation charge” that she has appealed against.

Tanu Weds Manu actress revealed that she tried to change her password and re-access her account but wasn’t able to. Following this, she received an email claiming that two-factor authentication was turned off.

Swara Bhasker X account hacked?

In a long post on Instagram, Swara Bhasker shared that on Friday (January 31), she received an email which said that some unknown account had “accepted delegation invite” from her handle and could now post, send DMS and create lists and groups on her X account.

She further clarified that she has not sent anyone any such invitation, adding that her verified blue tick account is still visible on the micro-blogging site but has no access to it. She further said, “It seems my account has been hacked”. She also shared a screenshot of the delegation invite being accepted by other people. The notification on the platform reads, “This means that you can send Direct Messages, publish Tweets and create lists – as well as view them – on behalf of @ReallySwara. They can also invite or remove contributors to the account and view account analytics.”

Swara Bhasker X account permanently suspended

On Thursday (January 30), Swara slammed X for permanently suspending her account due to two of her Republic Day posts which were marked for copyright infringement. Questioning the social media account for permanently suspending her account. she clarified that the post, due to which she was locked out of her account, is a popular slogan of the progressive movement of India and the other image marked as vilation is the picture of her own child.

Slamming the X, she wrote on Instagram, “How can this possibly be a copyright infringement ???? Who has a copyright on my child’s likeness??? Both of these complaints are ridiculous and untenable by any rational, logical and objective understanding of any legal definition of copyright.”
