New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence was broken into on January 16, 2025. The attempted burglary turned into an attack when Saif and Kareena were alerted about the intruder. Saif Ali Khan intervened was stabbed six times and sustained multiple injuries. The attack has left not only fans but the entire film industry deeply concerned.

After CCTV footage was released, the police believed that they had identified, and soon apprehended the attacker. However, on January 17, the identified man was brought into questioning and the authorities realised that it was a case of mistaken identity. Get more details here.

Saif Ali Khan Khan attacker mistaken – no arrests so far

The Mumbai Police brought the identified man to the Bandra Police Station at 11 AM on January 17. Turns out the identified man, Shahid, was a seasoned burglar with five housebreaking cases registered against him. However, the police revealed that Shahid was not the person who attacked Saif Ali Khan or broke into his home. Therefore, no arrests have been made in the case so far.

The incident occurred around 2:30 AM on the 12th floor of Gurusharan Apartments in Khar, where Saif resides with Kareena Kapoor and their two children, Taimur and Jehangir. According to Mumbai Police, the attacker entered the building via the staircase and escaped the same way. Multiple teams are working to track down the culprit.

Saif Ali Khan attack – Is there an Underworld connection?

Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam stated that no underworld gang was involved in the knife attack on Saif Ali Khan. “A suspect who has been detained in connection with the attack is not part of any gang. No gang has carried out this attack,” Kadam told reporters in Pune. He further added that Saif Ali Khan has not reported any threats or requested security. The minister indicated that theft was the sole motive behind the attack. However, as the identified person was mistaken, there is no confirmation whether the attack was related to any underworld threats.
