Weekend Box Office: Game Changer and Fateh struggle to make an impact

New Delhi: Ram Charan’s highly-anticipated film Game Changer and Sonu Sood’s Fateh, both, were released in theatres amid much buzz. However, they both have underperformed at the Box Office, especially on their third day. Given the buzz around Fateh, it fell short of its expectations. Similarly, Game Changer also witnessed a major dip in its collection on Day 3.

Both the movies were released in theatres on January 10 but failed to make an impact at the box office over its first weekend. Meanwhile, the films are facing stiff competition from Telugu blockbuster hit, Pushpa 2: The Rule, which was released on December 5, 2024.

Game Changer VS Fateh Box Office Collection

On Day 3, Shankar’s directorial Game Changer witnessed a notable decline in its earnings and minted only Rs 17 crore, taking the total to Rs 89.6 crore. On its opening day, the film earned Rs 51 crore. However, on its second day, the film saw a major drop in its earnings and collected only Rs 21.60 crore. On Day three, the film further witnessed a drop of 57.65 per cent and earned only Rs 17 crore.

Many trade experts predicted that Ram Charan starrer would be a blockbuster hit and would cross the Rs 200 crore mark globally but now, the figures indicate a downward trend. As per trade analyst Girish Wankhede, the actual figures remain elusive and the film’s worldwide collection is yet to be revealed, hinting that the film is struggling to get footfalls inside the cinema halls.

Talking about Fateh, Sonu Sood’s film opened in theatres with Rs 2.4 crore earnings. However, on its second day at the Box Office, the film saw a drop of 12.50 per cent, collecting only Rs 2.1 crore. As per early estimates, the film collected Rs 2.10 crore on its third day as well, making the total Rs 6.60 crore. The film underperformed despite the makers slashed the ticket prices to Rs 99 and even introduced the offer ‘Buy One Get Free’.

Overall, Game Changer and Fateh failed to impress at the Box Office as it did not live up to its expectations and are struggling at the ticket window to get the cash register ringing. The low collections of the film have also led to the chatter inside the industry about what went wrong with both the films.
