Vidaamuyarchi Day 1 Box Office: Ajith’s action thriller takes a flying start

New Delhi: After a gap of almost a year, Ajith is back on the silver screen. And his latest release, Vidaamuyarchi, seems to be working wonders at the Box Office. Early estimates suggest that the much-talked-about action thriller managed to set the cash registers ringing at ticket counters on its opening day in theatres.

According to Sacnilk, rough data indicates that Vidaamuyarchi raked in a whopping Rs 22 crore on Day 1. The figure is expected to become more accurate as the day progresses. The worldwide Box Office numbers for the movie are not available yet and will likely be revealed shortly by the makers.

The collection of Vidaamuyarchi is expected to witness a sharp rise over the weekend. It will be really interesting to see what records Vidaamuyarchi makes or breaks at the Box Office in the coming days.

Vidaamuyarchi star cast

Directed by renowned filmmaker Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi features Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, Arav and Ramya Subramanian in pivotal roles. The film was released in cinemas on Thursday (February 6, 2025).

For the unversed, Vidaamuyarchi is said to be an adaptation of the 1997 American film Breakdown, directed by Jonathan Mostow. The plot of the Ajith starrer centres around a man who embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue his wife, captured by a notorious group in Azerbaijan.

Produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions, the cinematography of Vidaamuyarchi has been handled by Om Prakash, with Anirudh Ravichander’s music adding extra excitement to the narrative. The majority of the scenes in Vidaamuyarchi were filmed in Azerbaijan. However, a brief schedule was shot in Thailand, enhancing the visual appeal of the film.

Upon its theatrical release, fans across Tamil Nadu indulged in massive celebrations, with some pouring milk over Ajith’s posters while others danced with excitement outside theatres. They gathered in huge numbers and even showcased their enthusiasm with drum beats.
