Veteran actor Vijaya Rangaraju dies of heart attack in Chennai

New Delhi: Sending shockwaves throughout the entertainment industry, veteran Telugu star Vijaya Rangaraju has reportedly breathed his last recently. It is being said that the renowned actor died of a heart attack at a hospital in Chennai.

According to a malayalamtv9.com report, Rangaraju had suffered an injury during a film shoot in Hyderabad a few days ago. It is believed that he had been undergoing medical treatment for the past week. His passing was confirmed by the Telugu Film Producers Association.

As soon as the news of Rangaraju’s demise surfaced online, netizens flooded social media with messages of mourning. “RIP to the great villain after Ravana, Vijaya Rangaraju (70), our own Ravuthar Annan, due to a heart attack. He will always be remembered through the film Vietnam Colony,” posted a user on X (formerly known as Twitter). Another wrote, “Our condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

For the unversed, Rangaraju won the hearts of fans with his compelling and powerful on-screen performances. Through his entertaining roles, he managed to carve a special place in the showbiz arena.

Rangaraju was best known for Vietnam Colony. The comedy film featured Mohanlal in the lead. The Siddique-Lal directorial not only garnered massive acclaim from viewers but also worked wonders at the Box Office.

In his splendid career, Rangaraju appeared in a wide variety of films and shared the screen with some of the biggest superstars. Beyond acting, he also had interests in bodybuilding and weightlifting.

Rangaraju is survived by two daughters, Deekshita and Padmini. His funeral is scheduled to take place in Chennai.
