New Delhi: Sohum Shah’s latest film, Crazxy, hit theaters on Friday, but the opening numbers haven’t been too promising. The psychological thriller, directed by Girish Kohli, managed to collect Rs 90 lakh on day one, struggling to find its footing against the box office juggernaut, Chhaava.

Despite the actor’s growing fanbase after the re-release of Tumbbad, Crazxy opened to limited footfalls. According to Sacnilk, the film added just Rs 4 lakh from Saturday morning shows, bringing its total to Rs 94 lakh so far. With its niche appeal and modest budget, these numbers aren’t entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, is dominating theaters with massive collections. The historical epic raked in Rs 13 crore on its second Friday, officially crossing the Rs 400 crore mark. The contrast is clear—mass entertainers are pulling in huge numbers, while smaller, multiplex-oriented films are struggling to compete.

Crazxy social media review

While Crazxy isn’t drawing large crowds yet, the word-of-mouth reviews are strong. Audiences who have watched the film are raving about its gripping storytelling and Sohum Shah’s powerhouse performance.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Stop what are you doing now and give 1 and half hour to this masterpiece , ye hota hai cinema. camera work, screenplay, suspense, music everything is class  #Crazxy”

This positive buzz could help the film gain traction over the weekend. If Saturday and Sunday collections show an upward trend, Crazxy might just surprise everyone.

Recent box office trends show that audience-driven films can sometimes pick up steam after a slow start. If Crazxy continues to receive glowing reviews, it may attract cinephiles looking for something different from the mainstream masala flicks.
