New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya starrer Sky Force was released in theatres on January 24 and it opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film has now opened to double-digit at the box office, breaking Akshay’s dry spell. Akshay’s previous few releases opened at the box office in digital digits. While Akshay’s Khel Khel Mein minted only Rs 5.05 crore on its opening day, Mission Raniganj only minted Rs 2.80 and Sarfira collected Rs 2.5 crore on Day one.

The last big hit of Akshay Kumar was the 2021 film, Sooryavanshi, which minted Rs 293 crore globally. Akshay’s last few films have also tanked at the box office including Selfiee, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, Bachchan Paandey, and Samrat Prithviraj. Sky Force Box Office collection Day 1

On its opening day, Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur’s directorial, Sky Force, collected Rs 11.25 crore, as per early estimates on Sacnilk. The film had an overall occupancy of 20.94 per cent in the Hindi belt. The film’s morning shows had an occupancy of 10.26 per cent, which increased throughout the day. Evening and night shows witnessed occupancy of 22.76 per cent and 36.58 per cent, respectively on Day 1.

According to Sacnilk, the film has already minted Rs 1.18 crore on its second day in all languages, making the total Rs 12.43. Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s movie is based on the life of Air Force pilot Ajjamada B Devaiah, who sacrificed his life during the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war.
