Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: What were guards doing when attacker entered building?

New Delhi: Five days after the shocking attack, Saif Ali Khan finally returned to his residence on Tuesday (January 21, 2025). While the 54-year-old Bollywood star flashed his smile for the shutterbugs, fans continue to raise doubts about his security, which led to the harrowing stabbing incident. The big question remains: How did the intruder gain access to the renowned actor’s building? Well, here’s an update!

A police official was quoted by PTI as saying that both security guards in Saif’s building were asleep when the attacker entered. He added that the accused jumped over the compound wall to gain entry.

The official further informed the news agency that the accused entered through the main entrance, where no CCTV camera was installed. He also stated that the individual removed his shoes and switched off his phone to avoid making any noise.

During the investigation, it was revealed that one of the two security guards was asleep in the cabin. The other was believed to be in slumber near the gate.

Who attacked Saif Ali Khan?

Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, alias Vijay Das, was arrested by the police on Sunday (January 19, 2025), in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case. The 30-year-old attacked the actor inside his 12th-floor apartment in the early hours of Thursday (January 16, 2025).

Following the attack, Saif underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. He is reportedly recovering well after receiving medical treatment.

Cops recently took Fakir to Saif’s building, as well as other locations, to recreate the crime scene. He is said to be a native of the Jhalokathi district in Bangladesh.

The police earlier mentioned that the fingerprints of the accused were found at the crime scene. Samples were reportedly collected by probing officials from the duct shaft, the bathroom window, and the ladder he used to enter through the duct.
