Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: Attacker to visit actor’s residence again? Here’s why

New Delhi: An official reportedly quoted as saying on Sunday (January 19, 2025) that the Mumbai police is likely to recreate the crime scene at the Bandra residence of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The accused in the highly-discussed case, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man, was recently arrested from Thane city.

According to PTI, a court in Mumbai has remanded the suspect, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, to police custody for five days. The official further informed the news agency that the police are expected to take Shehzad to Khan’s home at the Satguru Sharan building during these five days to recreate the incident. It is likely to be done as part of the investigation.

It is believed that Shehzad sneaked into Khan’s apartment in the early hours of Thursday (January 16, 2025). The alleged motive behind the same is said to be theft.

As per preliminary investigations, the accused climbed the stairs to the seventh-eighth floor of the building, which houses Khan, his actress wife Kareena Kapoor, their children and their domestic staff. He reportedly entered the flat through a bathroom window.

A scuffle reportedly broke out between Khan and Shehzad, during which the silver screen star was stabbed multiple times. Khan was immediately rushed to the nearby Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent a five-hour surgery.

How was the accused nabbed?

Multiple teams of investigators worked on various inputs and analysed footage from several CCTV cameras to track the attacker. Shehzad was taken into custody from Hiranandani Estate on Ghodbunder Road.

Meanwhile, Soha Ali Khan stated that her brother Saif Ali Khan is recovering well from his injuries. She also expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their unwavering support during this concerning time.
