Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter Esha Verma on calling her ‘evil’: ‘I wasn’t trying to…’

New Delhi: Actor Rupali Ganguly is once again making headlines, but this time, it’s not for her on-screen role in Anupamaa. Her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, took a dig at her on Instagram, calling her “evil.” However, she later clarified that she never meant to post the message publicly.

A few days ago, Esha shared an Instagram Story expressing her frustration. She accused the Kahaani Ghar Ghar actress of scheduling a court date on her birthday and even hinted that the actor keeps a close watch on her online activity. “Ty to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my bday muah,” Esha wrote, in a post that has since been deleted.

But the internet never forgets. A screenshot of her post quickly went viral, forcing Esha to explain herself. “It Was an Accident,” she added. Responding to the buzz, she further clarified that her post was never meant to go public. She said she was venting privately to a friend and mistakenly posted it as a Story.

“I use my socials to connect with my friends and share my thoughts—it’s always been a personal space for me. I wasn’t trying to start anything or make this public—it was just me processing my emotions in the moment,” she wrote in an Instagram post’s comment section shared by a media outlet. She further explained that having a court date fall on her birthday felt overwhelming and that she was simply frustrated by the situation.

This isn’t the first time Esha has spoken out against Rupali. Last year, an old post from 2020 resurfaced, in which she accused the actor of breaking her parents’ marriage. She also alleged that Rupali threatened her and her mother.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Esha claimed, “Rupali was the one who came to my house in New Jersey and slept on my mother’s bed—the bed my father and mother shared. She has done so much, physically, mentally, verbally, and emotionally abusing me and my mom.”

Following these allegations, Rupali Ganguly took legal action, slapping Esha with a Rs 50 crore defamation notice. The actor accused Esha of damaging her reputation, violating her dignity and affecting her career. After the legal notice, her stepdaughter deleted all posts related to the Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai actress and made her Instagram account private.
