Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is coming! Announcement teaser fuels massive fan anticipation

New Delhi: The anticipation for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has been building up for quite some time now. Taking things to the next level, the makers of Jailer 2 decided to take a new route with their announcement video. Sun Pictures, the film’s production company was released online and screened across select theaters across the country.

While the announcement video does not confirm a release date, cast or any other details regarding the film, it does reintroduce superstar Rajinikanth as  ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. Take a look at Jailer 2′s announcement video here!

The Jailer 2 announcement teaser features director Nelson and Anirudh chilling as they make conversation about the weather. Their casual conversation is interrupted by random men entering their house as they get rained on with bullets. Then, Tiger makes his entry in a blood-soaked white shirt as he carries a gun in one hand and an axe in another. With over 1 million views within an hour of release, the hopes riding on this film are sky-high.

After the first film, Jailer’s immense success, this film is expected to break the Box Office. Jailer became Rajinikanth’s highest-grossing film in his career and one of the most successful films in Tamil cinema. The film does not have a set release date as Jailer 2‘s shooting will only commence after the release of Rajinikanth’s upcoming project Coolie.

Jailer 2 announcement video screened in theaters

Sun Pictures screened the teasers in select theatres. Live stream on Sun TV’s official YouTube channel showed fans cheering and hooting for Thalaiva’s ultimate return. As the crowd stood up and watched the promos with full concentration, cheers went wild once Rajinikanth was on the screen. Confetti popped as fans celebrated the film’s highly-anticipated announcement.
