Eligibility Criteria

• Lecturer Positions:
  • Architectural Assistantship (SW): Bachelor’s in Architecture or a 4-year degree in an allied field with First Class or equivalent. Alternatively, both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the relevant discipline with First Class in either.
  • ECE and Mechanical / First Year General Engineering: B.E./B.Tech/B.S. in the relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent. Alternatively, both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the relevant discipline with First Class in either.
  • English, Physics, and Chemistry: Master’s degree in the relevant subject with First Class or equivalent. Alternatively, a Master’s degree with First Class or equivalent in the relevant subject and clearance of the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent test like SLET/SET.
• Physical Director – Physical Education:
  • Master’s degree with First Class or equivalent and clearance of the NET conducted by UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent test like SLET/SET.
• Non-Teaching Positions:
  • Skilled Assistant (Architectural Assistantship SW): ITI/National Trade Certificate (NTC)/National Apprenticeship Training Certificate in Architectural Draughtsman/Draughtsman (Civil) trade.
  • Skilled Assistant (Workshop First Year General Engineering): ITI/NTC/National Apprenticeship Training Certificate in the Fitter trade.
  • Junior Mechanic (Modern Office Practice): Pass in SSLC with at least one year of experience in Typewriter Mechanism in government polytechnics, recognized typewriting firms, or technical institutions approved by the Chairman, Board of Examinations, Chennai.
  • Junior Assistant (Office): SSLC pass.
  • Typist (Office): SSLC pass with higher or senior grades in both Tamil and English typewriting (or higher in one and lower in the other). Additionally, candidates should have completed the “Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation” awarded by the Technical Education Department.
  • Office Assistant (Office): 8th Standard pass.

Age Limit (as of July 1, 2025):

• Lecturer and Physical Director Positions: Up to 59 years.
• Skilled Assistant and Junior Mechanic Positions: Up to 38 years.
• Junior Assistant, Typist, and Office Assistant Positions:
  • Scheduled Castes/Arunthathiyars, Scheduled Tribes, and Destitute Widows: 18 to 37 years.
  • Most Backward Classes/Denotified Communities, Backward Classes (Other than Muslim), and Backward Class Muslims: 18 to 34 years.
  • Others: 18 to 32 years.

Pay Scale for Periyar Centenary Polytechnic College Recruitment 2025

• Lecturer: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
• Physical Director: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400
• Skilled Assistant, Junior Mechanic, Junior Assistant, and Typist: ₹19,500
• Office Assistant: ₹15,700
