In her latest column for The Times of India, Twinkle Khanna didn’t hold back. She condemned the narratives blaming Kareena for not being present when Saif was attacked. The Mela actress wrote, “While Saif was in hospital, ridiculous rumours swirled that his wife hadn’t been at home or had been too intoxicated to help him during the assault. The absence of any sort of evidence did nothing to stop these dumb theories. People just enjoyed shifting the blame onto the wife — an all-too-familiar pattern.”

She further highlighted how society unfairly holds women accountable for nearly everything. Using a mix of humour and sarcasm, she wrote, “If your house is untidy, you are lazy; if it’s too neat, you are a control freak. If he’s indifferent, they’ll blame you for not handling him right. Apparently, wives can also be blamed for baldness.” Twinkle’s words resonated deeply, shedding light on the relentless scrutiny women face.

The controversy began when Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Instagram Stories showed her enjoying a night out with friends, including Sonam Kapoor, around the time of the attack. This led to a frenzy of comments questioning her absence.

Kareena broke her silence soon after, addressing the speculation through an Instagram post. “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage,” she wrote.

Attack on Saif Ali Khan

The attack occurred at Saif’s Bandra home when an intruder confronted one of the household staff members. As Saif tried to intervene, the situation escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving the actor with stab wounds. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital and discharged last week after treatment.

The Mumbai Police have since arrested the perpetrator, who was identified following an intense search. Twinkle’s column humorously pointed out how the police detained “every naturally spindly man they could find, and some on Ozempic” before nabbing the attacker.
