New Delhi: Actor Vinayakan, known for his roles in blockbuster films like Jailer and Marco, has once again found himself at the centre of a controversy. A video of the actor, who was reportedly in a drunken state, has gone viral, showing him on a balcony in a heated argument with a neighbour.

Vinayakan drops apology post

At one point, the Thekku Vadakku actor even falls, struggling to get back up, adding fuel to the online frenzy. The footage left many wondering if he was intoxicated with some fans suggesting that he should be suspended from Malayalam cinema.

One user wrote, “What happened to actor #Vinayakan? He should be immediately suspended from Malayalam cinema,” while another added, “#Vinayakan. Actor or Drunker. He should be banned from acting.” The backlash was swift and intense, with many disappointed by the actor’s behaviour.

Faced with criticism, Vinayakan took to Facebook to address the incident. In a post in Malayalam, he said, “As a film actor and as a person, I am unable to handle many issues. I apologize to the public for any negative energy I may have caused. Let the discussions continue.” The actor’s message seems to suggest regret but also invites further conversation about the incident.

Vinayakan’s list of controversies

Unfortunately for Vinayakan, this isn’t his first brush with controversy. In 2023, he was arrested for creating a disturbance at a police station in Ernakulam, Kochi, and released on bail. Just a year later, in 2024, he was detained at Hyderabad airport after getting into an altercation with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Additionally, a video of him cussing at a tea stall also went viral last year, adding to his list of public outbursts.
