New Delhi: Former Bollywood star Mamta Kulkarni is making headlines again. However, this time, it is not about her comeback film. In a shocking move, the Karan Arjun fame actress finally broke her silence after her controversial appointment—and swift removal—as Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara.

Addressing the backlash, Mamta didn’t mince words. When asked about saints objecting to her appointment, she said sharply, “What can I even say? They should fear Mahakal and Mahakali.” But the real mic-drop moment came when she aimed at Dhirendra Shastri.

“Woh nappy… Dhirendra Shastri hai. Jitni unki ayu hai 25 saal, utni maine tapasya ki hai. Aur jinko unhone siddh karke rakha hai, woh Hanuman ji hain. Is 23 saal ki tapasya mein 2 baar pratyaksh swaroop mein unke saath mera rehna hua hai. Mamta’s appointment as Mahamandaleshwar was short-lived. Within a week, the title was revoked amid growing dissent. Rumours swirled that she paid Rs 10 crore to secure the title—a claim she vehemently denies. The controversy reached its peak during the Mahakumbh, when her appointment became the talk of the town.

What did Bageshwar Baba say?

Dhirendra Shastri, known for his massive following, didn’t hold back either. Speaking at the Mahakumbh after taking a holy dip, he questioned Mamta’s appointment: “Such a revered title should be granted only to those with a pure soul. How can someone be made a saint or Mahamandaleshwar under external influence? Even I haven’t become a Mahamandaleshwar yet.”
