New Delhi: The Malayalam film industry is buzzing with excitement as megastar Mammootty announces his next project with the talented director Nithish Sahadev. The duo who recently made headlines after sharing the update on social media are all set to collaborate on an exciting new film.

Mammootty teams up with director Nithish Sahadev

In an Instagram post, Nithish Sahadev gave fans a glimpse into the upcoming project, stating, “Next padam with Mammookka. Directed by Myself. Written by – Anuraj Ob & Myself. Project Designer: Agnivesh Ranjith.” The post was accompanied by a series of pictures of the two creators, hinting at the synergy between the director and the actor.

Nithish made his directorial debut with Falimy in 2023, a comedy-drama that struck a chord with audiences. The film, which starred Basil Joseph in the lead role, focused on a dysfunctional middle-class family’s journey from Kerala to Varanasi to fulfil their grandfather’s long-desired wish. Through the ups and downs of their adventure, the family grows closer and more appreciative of their lives. Falimy was a Diwali hit, earning both critical and audience praise for its heartwarming and humorous portrayal of family dynamics.

Mammootty’s movies

Mammootty, 73, is known for his versatility and was last seen in the comedy-mystery Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse. In the film, Mammootty plays Dominic, a disgraced ex-cop turned detective, who uncovers a complex web of mystery surrounding a missing purse. The film is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and was well-received by audiences for its intriguing storyline and Mammootty’s gripping performance.

Currently, Mammootty is also filming MMMN, directed by Mahesh Narayan, in which he stars alongside Mohanlal, who makes a special appearance.
