New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan’s cult classic movie, Main Hoon Na, has been a fan favourite since its initial release in 2004. The film went on to become a huge success, and fans could not get enough of the Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan combo. Over two decades later, new reports suggest that the beloved film might have a sequel.

That’s right, a report by Pinkvilla claims that Main Hoon Na 2 might be in its development stage at SRK’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. Here is what we have gathered so far.

Is Main Hoon Na 2 in development?

According to Pinkvilla’s sources, Under SRK and Gauri Khan’s production house, Farah Khan and her writers have cracked a screenplay for the highly-anticipated sequel. The insiders claim that although Shah Rukh is excited about the film, he has decided to look at the script before taking up the offer. SRK has reportedly requested Farah Khan to ‘honestly’ work on a screenplay that surpasses that of the first film.

“Shah Rukh is clear that he doesn’t want to greenlight a sequel just for nostalgia’s sake. He understands the iconic status of Main Hoon Na and is looking for a script that can surpass the impact of the original,” the source revealed. The report stated that SRK will get a script by mid-2025 and that the script is in the making.

This fan-favourite duo is known for working on massively popular films such as Main Hoon Na, Happy New Year, Om Shanti Om, and the sequel if it passes the quality check. In other news, Shah Rukh Khan is also set to appear in the 2026 film King directed by Siddharth Anand. Further, he also commits to Yash Raj Films for Pathaan 2.
